Hello Magazine and Website
Hello Magazine and Website ranked at the time of writing 18000 in the world which means this site and magazine is another big player in the celebrity arena. Main site is the UK version with Spanish, Canadian, Mexican, Greek and Russian Versions also available.
We would say this website and magazine is female focused and is the major competitor to the OK Magazine, not quite as much content as OK but still impressive all the same. We do use the hellomagazine news at the FJ Girls website. On the newstands this magazine retails about 90p cheaper than OK. We would say its a halfway house between Heat Magazine and OK Magazine.
The main headings on this site include a section called Channels featuring sub sections of Actors, Actresses, Musicians, Fashion and Models, royalty and statesmen, Health and Beauty and Travel.
There’s also in InDepth section with photos and videos and more and an interactive club with quizzes and games, horoscopes and more and a Services section where you can get hold of that all important RSS Feed to burn in your feedreader.
A traditional safe looking site, with a good design and very easy to find your way around but also geared up for that 20 second quick visit just to see the latest goss!
Photo galleries are reasonable to good with some outstanding ones with a slighly bigger than usual size but you’ll have to be patient with waiting for them to download but they are worth the wait. We had a look at a Victoria Beckham in leather photo and it was impressive!
Everything for the celebrity news and gossip lover, this is one for the girls without a doubt! A nice read and another RSS and bookmark essential.
The Sun Newspaper and Website
The Sun Newspaper and website is tabloidism in its purest form, its where it all began and has spawned many of the magazines and websites and other tabloid papers in various guises that appear including many websites.
Tabloids have had a lot of bad press in recent years but these newspapers are renowned to going to extreme lengths to get that story, and they are particularly good at weeding out the tasty news that we are dying to hear about, and they deliver in traditional sensationalist style. Some is real, some is not!
They are prone to jumping the gun a bit and publish headlines ahead of the broadsheet and more staid news sources that tend to check and double check that this news headline is the real deal before they publish.
This means that the Sun is one of those rare gems that must be kept an eye on for celebrity news and we at FJ Girls do watch this and its competitor the mirror very closely as a high proportion of these so called leaked stories do pan out to be the true headlines in the making, with the main news agencies latching on later.
The Sun website is true to form to the newspaper, with loads of sport, page 3 girls, celebrity news and gossip and the usual tongue in cheek and rhyming headlines you will only see here. Its big bold, in your face and very red, but we have to say it does look the biz . The Sun website is a packed and well laid out site with solid navigation and links with good features and bristles with updates.
Headings on the website include News, Sport, Showbiz, Woman, Fun, Virals, Dear Deirdre, Mystic Meg, Motors, Travel, and of course the Famed Page 3 section and much more
It’s a UK lads newspaper and website, it doesn’t pretend to be otherwise, but the celebrity section and gossip is a good read for the ladies as well.
Recommended and used by us with a pinch of salt here and there with the dodgier headlines. A good light hearted read and a possible advance view of future headlines in the making so one you simply cannot afford to miss whether you like it or not. A must for any RSS Feed Reader or Bookmark. Ignore at your peril!
OMG Yahoo
This is a fairly NEW offering from the monster World Ranked No1 Web site and Search Engine Yahoo, titled OMG, as in the famous in phrase at the moment in celebrity news circles. OMG is in collaboration with Access Hollywood and X17, which are renowned Celeb sites in their own right.
When the worlds No1 website and search engine starts moving in celebrity circles, you can’t help but sit up and take notice, and this site impresses in a second. Forgetting the Yahoo backing on this and the fact it has strong tabloid undercurrents, we liked the look of this one straight off.
Clean cut lines, nice colour scheme, clean and simple layout, possibly the way forward for new websites, we hope it is. Basically OMG is a Celebrity News Portal with strong emphasis on photo content and we have to say the photos are quality and leap out at you ,and thats just the thumbs. The way it should be. Videos also feature.
OMG is a tabloid style offering but the news articles get the brain cells ticking over a bit more and there’s no shortage of celeb eye candy with female celebrities dominating the headlines on this site.
This is a site you could visit and in 30 seconds you would have scanned the major headlines and see who is where and who is up to what. But if you want to spend longer and go into more depth the content is there.
Adverts are at a minimum on this site which is unbelievable for a celebrity style site and OMG is still in BETA, but this site looks set to be going places and with big name backing could be taking the celebrity photo and news world by storm.
A classy tabloid style number with quality content and topics that impressed the hell out of us, and one that gets our recommendation without hesitation.

Holy Moly
Holy Moly if you haven’t heard of this one………….where have you been!
Heat World is your tabloid version of say something like the quality and authorative OK Magazine and website. Holy Moly is …………….well a breed of its own.
It’s been around since 2002 and this one of those cult following sites that is now currently ranked at 38000 in the world so it gets fair amount of hits and is up there with the likes of FreshDames and HeatWorld, its that sort of calibre as regards hits and popularity but thats where the similarity ends.
Holy Moly is a very informal sort of website in a blog style which we have to say we have not seen anything similar. The first thing that caught our eye is the mailing list subscription list application with a “Stick your first name here” and “Stick your surname here” this sets the tone for whats to come.
Got to say there’s some big wow size pictures on here for the headlines instead of those miniscule thumbs where you can just make out who it is. This is all hand written stuff and this site as far as we know is run by a student.
This is a love it or hate it sort of site but the content we have to say is there, its exclusive instead of duplicated or farmed, and all the main headlines feature, but all treated with that Holy Moly approach of a bit of cutting sarcasm wit with some alternative views on what is happening on the celeb arena. The person that runs this site quite obviously lives and breathes celebrities…and it shows.
There’s a merchandise section, competitions, a forum and much more. A very difficult site to put into words this one, the picture above probably does a better job. The only way to find out what Holy Moly is all about is to go there and dive in!
Heat World
Heat World ranked approx 29000 in the world at the time of writing is our hit you over the head and throw you around the room celebrity magazine and website version and quiet this one IS NOT!
Bright and bold colours, controversial tabloid in your face headlines, those risky pictures that other magazines and sites would love to publish but then think again that maybe its not a good idea…………..well heat world thinks it’s a great idea!
Its the sort of site you either run for cover or you take one look and you will get sucked in DAILY! OMG is the headline you will see over and over!
Sections include Movies , Music ,TV ,Radio , heat Towers , Other Stuff , Forum , Competitions and yes an Archive .
We had a quick look at the Forum and its in the same style with some vibrant colours but the forum is in the similar style as the mag and site. At the time of writing it had 456 active users.
The headlines on this site as well as the magazine are the tabloid attention grabbers such as a picture of Victoria Beckhans son picking his nose, the latest celeb fashion disasters and other extremely important issues in the celeb world.
It’s a light hearted read and how they get away with it is unbelievable, but get away with it they do. If you are after in depth straight laced celeb info then heat world and the heat magazine is not for you, but if you are after celebrity news that makes you laugh without going too deeply into the whys and therefores then Heat World will be your bag!
